News from the Head of School
Spring has sprung and the children are loving being outside without hats and mittens! Be on the look out for the daffodils that the graduating 6th graders and their families planted last year. They are in front by the sign and on the side of the parking lot by the pool. Many thanks to Steve Ridler for spearheading this operation and proving a lasting, renewable improvement to the Taylor School landscape.
The invitations to the “Innovate and Create” celebration dinner and auction on May 15th will be in the mail by the end of the week. The dinner will be held at the Troy Country Club which is right down the road from the Taylor School. We have already accumulated many wonderful auction items! The annual Taylor School quilt squares are finished and Nancy Maynard, Susan Taylor’s sister, is currently putting it all together.
While fundraising is a necessary evil of independent schools and nonprofits, it is also an opportunity to come together as a community and enjoy each others company. Everyone will receive an invitation to the event which is guaranteed to be even more fun as last year. Please come and bring some friends!
It’s time to sign up for this year’s summer enrichment program! Our new brochure highlights all of the themes for the summer and it looks like everyone will be having their usual fun-filled summertime fun. The teachers will be taking turns spinning the themes into magical learning opportunities. Sign up now and ensure that your child has a spot!
A registration sheet will go home after break for transition camp. Ms. LaDu, Mrs. Cosgrove and Mrs. Koleszar will be leading the fun with our aftercare teachers assisting.
Enjoy the spring as we head towards summer!
