February 2009
News from the Head of School
Happy February! It has been a challenge but we have continued to get the children outside whenever possible. It makes such a difference in everyone’s moods and coping skills. Please make sure that the children have the clothing they need to enjoy the outdoors fully. The days are getting longer as we count down (49 days) to spring!
I hope that all of you have enjoyed our new weekly e-letters that began in November. Our goal is to send a consistent, succinct message to our friends and families that is easy to read and makes your lives just a little bit easier. We also want you to know about all of the fabulous activities that are happening at the Taylor School every week. The weekly notes will not replace the monthly newsletter but will bring up to date information to your desktop. If you know of anyone else who might like to receive this weekly newsletter, please make sure that Mrs. Haggerty has their email address. Any feedback you may have on this and other school communication is welcome.
In a few days you will receive an invitation to join the honorary committee for this year’s Soar and Explore Gala and Auction, which will be held on May 9 at the Heffner Alumni House on the RPI campus. This annual event is a special gathering of our parents, faculty, alumni, founding families and community leaders who come together to celebrate our school, share stories, and have some well-deserved fun! There are many ways to help make this another successful event and I hope that you will consider them!
We are living in a time when everyone is watching their money very carefully. Rest assured that the Board of Trustees and I are watching the Taylor School budget just as carefully to ensure that we continue to provide the highest quality education to our students at the most affordable cost. Thank you to all of you for your generosity and support.
Keep warm,
Wendy
