Dear Families,

As you read through this newsletter, I hope you take note of all the interesting and exciting learning adventures happening throughout the school.  In each classroom, the children are engaged in expanding their knowledge and skills across a wide range of topics.  The students at the Taylor School are very fortunate to have teachers who are dedicated to enriching their minds each and every day.  And, the teachers are fortunate to be able to teach children who come from families that value the way we educate children. Thank you for your commitment to providing your child with an exceptional education. 

Throughout the month of February, you may hear about two service learning projects we are participating in.  The St. Jude Math-A-Thon will be taking place on Friday, February 26th.  Students in prekindergarten through sixth grade will be completing math problems as a way to earn money from their sponsors.  Children from the 3/4 class told our community all about how St. Jude Children’s Hospital takes care of children who are seriously ill, even if their families cannot pay for it.  Our Taylor School students are very excited to demonstrate their generous spirits through some math fun! The other service project will be a Bake/Craft Sale that is being completely organized by the children.  The money raised from the sale will be sent to help the people of Haiti. Students in the 5/6 class learned how to write business letters to request a donation from a local business to fund the Bake/Craft Sale. Their powers of persuasion were impressive!  Be on the lookout for more information about these worthwhile activities.
